Leading civilian UK centre of excellence for military health research

We are collecting the stories of both Gurkha and Fijian veterans in particular to learn more about what life was like in the military and since leaving. If you are a Gurkha or Fijian veteran and would like to share your story, you can email us at [email protected]

Our research team at King's College London are looking to speak with Gurkha and Fijian veterans of the UK Armed Forces as part of the HEAR study. Most of the current research and evidence about health, wellbeing and life in the military focuses upon White British personnel. Far less is known about non-UK personnel, despite facing unique obstacles, such as applying to live in the UK after leaving the military.

As part of this study, our research team will contact you to take part in an interview on the telephone, via video call or in-person depending on what you prefer. Your data will be kept safely and confidentially according to our study protocol. We will give you more information on this if you are interested.

This research is funded by Forces in Mind Trust (FiMT).
