An app to help manage the emotional side of military-civilian transition

The UK charity, Samaritans, is contacted hundreds of times a month by members of the military community. In 2021, Samaritans worked with all three branches of UK Defence, veterans’ charities, serving personnel, veterans and their families to develop some military programmes using LIBOR funds. This led to the launch of Samaritans Veterans App, a free-to-use application which offers a range of psychoeducational materials, videos and podcasts, the ability to set wellbeing goals, and contacts for further support.

KCMHR embarked upon an evaluation of the app to analyse what was working, what could be improved and who was using it.
